At Hersill we continue our commitment to the Banco de Alimentos de Madrid Foundation and to the most disadvantaged people in the Community of Madrid.
The mission of the FBAM is to alleviate the effects of poverty in our environment by distributing food free of charge to charities that give it to people living in poverty and/or vulnerability. In 2022, the foundation provided a daily meal to an average of 171,000 people.
This entity obtains and distributes food free of charge to legally recognized charitable organizations that assist poor people in the Community of Madrid (it does not deliver food directly to final beneficiaries). It also combats waste, recovering food surpluses at source, and waste, at the final stages of marketing, preventing its destruction and CO2 emissions. Also awareness – especially among children, teenagers and young people – of social vulnerability, food shortages and the importance of their contribution to helping people in this situation, as well as preventing food waste.
The solidarity of individuals and companies is fundamental for the FBAM to carry out its mission, in this sense from Hersill, we renew our commitment through the sponsorship of one of the streets in the warehouse of our headquarters.
