At Hersill, we understand that our responsibility lies not only in technological innovation, but also in the social impact we generate. From our beginnings, we have been committed to a strong commitment to the community, convinced that healthcare technology must be an engine for change, not only in health, but also in improving the lives of those who need it most. Over the years, we have developed and supported numerous charitable initiatives that allow us to help those facing situations of vulnerability and emergency.
Our focus is clear: contributing to the well-being of people, whether through humanitarian aid in conflict zones, supporting communities in need or promoting health in disadvantaged places. Through our actions, we seek to make a direct and positive impact on the lives of thousands of people, recognising that true innovation lies in the ability to transform the lives of those who need it most, as our vocation has always been to improve people’s quality of life, always from idea to patient.
There are several actions that Hersill has carried out in collaboration with different entities to help different situations of vulnerability of population both in Spain and internationally. Actions that fill with satisfaction and give meaning and value to the work that Hersill carries out in the field of health technology on a daily basis.
🩺 Support to the Recover Foundation: In collaboration with the Recover Foundation, we have contributed to the improvement of health care in several centers in Cameroon.
- At the Catholic Health Center Mère Nazaria, in Bamendjou, Cameroon Hersill has collaborated by donating a hematology equipment. This gesture has enabled the reactivation of the laboratory service, essential to make reliable diagnoses and improve health care in a vulnerable area, allowing the realization of 364 hemograms since March 2023. In addition, local health personnel have been trained, ensuring the efficient use of the equipment, contributing to the detection and monitoring of serious pathologies such as anemia, leukemia and infections, as well as sensitizing the community on the importance of clinical tests before initiating treatments.
- The Catholic Medical Center of Tonga. For this center, which serves more than 32,000 people in a region with limited resources, Hersill has collaborated to improve its surgical, laboratory and hospitalization services. Surgical equipment, a microscope and hospital beds have been purchased. In addition, the donation has provided staff training and improved quality of care and hygiene conditions, reducing infections and optimizing resources.
❤️ Red Cross – Support to vulnerable families: In Móstoles, we joined forces with the Red Cross to help more than 400 people in extreme vulnerability. Through financial donation to buy food in local shops and organizing workshops to improve basic skills and healthy eating among others. We promoted the social and economic integration of the most vulnerable families, strengthening the local community.
🍎 Food Bank – Fighting food poverty: With the Fundación Banco de Alimentos de Madrid, we sponsored a “street” within their logistics warehouse, which enabled more than 171,000 people to receive food daily. This collaboration not only supports food security, but also promotes sustainability through the recovery of surpluses.
🎭 Saniclown – The antidote to joy: Together with Saniclown, we bring smiles to hospitals through clown workshops, improving the hospital experience for patients and their families. This collaboration fosters emotional well-being, helping patients face the challenges of their hospital stay in a positive way improving their mental and physical health.
🌍Humanitarian Emergencies – Support for DANA: Hersill has wanted to support those affected by DANA through a donation to the Food Bank, which is currently raising funds to be able to purchase and distribute supplies of both food and basic necessities to the areas that have been most impacted by the disaster. Hersill also collaborates with other institutions working in the field of humanitarian assistance, such as the Santa Clara Convent Foundation, where he has donated medical equipment to care for people affected by the war in Ukraine.
👶🏻UNICEF: As part of UNICEF Spain’s #PymesAmigas, a campaign designed for small and medium-sized businesses that want to actively help build a better world, Hersill has collaborated for one more year with this program that not only provides education, but also a safe and healthy environment for children who attend schools built by UNICEF in Africa. We contributed to the acquisition of 118 maternity kits and 168 first aid kits, fundamental tools in emergency situations. These kits don’t just contain materials, they contain hope: the opportunity to save a life when every second counts, especially that of the little ones, who are the most vulnerable.
Fundación Vianorte-Laguna: Hersill, concerned about the integral benefit of patients, this year has collaborated, for the first time, in the training event of music therapy in palliative care, held by the Fundación Vianto-Laguna, specialized in the care of patients with advanced diseases and people with cognitive impairment and their families, seeks to show the benefits of music therapy in improving the quality of life of patients.
These are just some of the many ways in which, at Hersill, we work to make the world a better place. Healthcare technology can transform lives, but we also believe that true impact is achieved when we come together to help those who need it most. We will continue our social commitment, working alongside organizations and people who share our vision for a more just, supportive and healthy future for all. Together, we can build a more humane world.
💙 Together, we can make a difference. 💙
